Our neighborhood:

The Costa Calida is the coastline of the province of Murcia, including the Mar Menor, a vast, near land locked salt water lagoon. The warm shallow waters of the Mar Menor make this a paradise for those keen on water sports of all descriptions. It is known as a fantastic natural swimming pool with temperatures on average 5 degrees higher than the Mediterranean - sometimes as high as 27 or 30 degrees in summer. It is a buzz of activity with lots of bars and restaurants along the promenade. Bikes can be hired locally too.

Visit Lo Pagan where the famous mud baths are situated said to have healing properties for aches and pains.

The capital of the region, Murcia, rivals the cultural experience you can find in any of Spain's renowned cities like Barcelona or Granada.Today in Murcia every corner holds a sense of its varied past and vibrant present. Art and the Mediterranean essence spill out onto the streets of this delightful city. Great for strolling through the city hosts numerous shopping opportunities, cathedrals and art venues with everything in easy reach. Relax in one of the many pavement cafes and do a spot of people watching.

The ancient seaport of Cartagena, where the Spanish Armada sailed from, is one of the world’s most fascinating cities with a history dating back more than 3000 years. A wealth of history and beautiful architecture. If you explore the port area you will find a mixture of old and new. The large naval base occupies a large area and throughout the city, the importance of the port will become evident with numerous buildings belonging to the navy, as well as a good naval museum. You must see the Naval Headquarters, Artillery Headquarters, Dockyard Gate and the Midshipman School. It has a lovely promenade with restaurants galore. Also shopping centre (for the Ladies) with a Cortes Ingles department store. Its Roman history can be seen in the Amphitheatre, the Augusteum, the Roman road, the Roman theatre, the Colonnade de la morería baja...all in magnificent surroundings. The Peral Submarine, built in Cadiz in 1884, the very first. The Cartagena born designer saw it launched in 1888. This is now displayed along the Cartagena sea front.
