Our neighborhood:

Santa Cruz is the epitome of a beach town. Surfing reigns supreme here, not only as the dominant outdoor activity, but also as the defining mentality that permeates all aspects of the city. One of Santa Cruz's biggest draws, second only perhaps to its amazing beaches and world-renowned surf, is the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the West Coast's last remaining seaside amusement park. More inland lays Santa Cruz's newly renovated downtown. The pedestrian-friendly, tree-lined streets are filled with vibrant shops and galleries, first-rate coffee shops and sidewalk performers - all in keeping with Surf City's offbeat personality.

There's something for everyone in Santa Cruz. It goes without saying to check out the beaches! This is where Hawaiians first introduced surfing to the mainland, and it's easy to see why. Along the way, discover everything else Santa Cruz has to offer. By far, the area's largest attraction is the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, which draws over 3 million visitors a year. The boardwalk features 34 rides, games of skill, arcades, restaurants and more. The park is also home to two National Historic Landmarks: a classic 1911 Looff carousel and the popular Giant Dipper wooden roller coaster, built in 1924. If arcades and popcorn aren't your thing, explore the redwood forests outside of town, featuring the largest living creatures on Earth or sample the fine wines that the Santa Cruz mountain vineyards have to offer.
