We would like to travel to la Toscana next summer for about two weeks. We want to exchange our 2 bed apt in a nice area of Paris ( 12th arrondisment, near the Vincennes forest) for your appartement or house in la Toscana.
The 12th arrondissement from the Bastille to the Bois de Vincennes is generally residential but has become regenerated and trendy since the building of the L' Opera-Bastille. The Bastille Opera was built by the architect Carlos Ott and inaugurated on July 14, 1989.
The rue du Faubourg St. Antoine has always been a center for furniture makers but there are picturesque little alleys and streets in the area. Rue de Lappe typifies the rejuvenation of the Bastille area.
Apart from the areas close to Bastille and Nation, the area offers a calm life with parks and promenades although around the mainline station of Gare de Lyon and some of the business districts it becomes more lively.
The Bercy district, offering cafés and boutiques in a recent conversion of the wine warehouses, is popular with the local community. The large leafy Bercy park is a welcome breath of fresh air, as is the planted viaduct leading from Bastille to the outer reaches of the 12th. The viaduct’s arcades also house an impressive array art galleries and cafés.
The Nation district is a bustling area and is one of the principle routes into central Paris.
